Welcome to our website
Flames Netball Club was formed approximately 45 years ago and has a long-standing history within the local netball community. The club originally welcomed mums and daughters to play together, as well as encouraging younger players to play alongside more experienced members. At one stage, as many as 10 mums and 12 daughters played together in the Aylesbury District League.

Over the years, Flames enjoyed considerable success with our senior teams and in particular with our youth section. The club was awarded Silver CAPS accreditation by England Netball, recognising that appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures were in place.

At the peak of the club’s success, Flames had five adult teams competing in the Aylesbury Senior Netball League, alongside Under-14 and Under-16 teams competing in the Aylesbury Youth League.

As the years have passed, however, the club has faced many of the challenges common to community sports clubs. Younger players have left to attend university or moved away from the area, while some adult players have stepped away from netball to start and raise their families.

Although we still had talented youth players who were ready and able to progress into senior netball, we were unable to recruit enough adult players to meet the Aylesbury League’s required ratio of under-18 players to adults within a team.

As a result, for the 2026/27 season, Flames currently has two teams competing in the Aylesbury League (Premier Division & Division 4) games are played on Wednesday evenings at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and Aylesbury Vale Academy. Unfortunately the Club no longer has a youth section.

Despite these changes, Flames remains proud of its long history, the opportunities it has provided to generations of players, and the achievements of both its senior and youth sections. We are looking forward to the 2026/27 season, continuing to enjoy our netball, support one another and build on the club’s proud history.
