About Us

Flames

Flames Netball Club was formed approximately 14 years ago and entered one team into the Aylesbury District Netball League. Following a number of successful seasons this team was eventually promoted to the Premier Division.

Gradually over the years the Club became much larger, accommodating both mums and daughters playing alongside each other, mixing youth with experienced players. At one time a total of 10 mums and 12 daughters played together in the Club!

At the present time Flames have 6 teams established in the Aylesbury League and an Under 14 and 16 team in the Aylesbury Youth League. Membership is just over 50, as well as our netball successes many firm friendships have been made. The Club currently has 3 Level 2 qualified netball Coaches, 4 Level 1 coaches, 1 B Award Umpire and 8 C Award Umpires.

Flames Netball Club promotes fair play and is open to all players encouraging a good social atmosphere, fun and team spirit. The Club is dedicated to developing Youth Netball in the area. Members of the Club established the Aylesbury Youth League and are heavily involved in the running of the Aylesbury Junior League in North Bucks.

ClubMark

Flames have gained recognition and Clubmark by (EN) England Netball for achieving Bronze CAPS (Club Action Planning Scheme) Status under their Club Accreditation Scheme. CAPS helps Netball clubs function in the most efficient way by providing a duty of care to its members, with child protection and safety guidelines in place which encourages good practice. The Club aims to develop players, coaches and umpires at all levels.

Many thanks to Gilly Bettis for all her hard work in getting our application together and everyone else that helped.

We are now working towards the Silver Award and will keep you updated on the progress.
